From theory to practice: Applying conceptual ethics models („The Corporate Ethical Virtues Model”) in the corporate world („The Integrity Thermometer”). Ethics Management in practice.
Distinguished professor of business ethics and KPMG partner Muel Kaptein, guru of the field of ethics management, is for the first time in Romania to offer a MasterLecture on the applicability of conceptual ethics model into corporate reality. Muel will discuss the way his academic research concerning The Corporate Ethical Virtues Model has been developed into a practical tool for corporate ethical audits, which he called „The Integrity Thermometer”, and which is wideley used by KPMG Netherlands to asses organizational integrity. During the event, he will also discuss issues related to the practice of ethics management and will answer questions from the audience.
The event is co-organized by ICUB, University of Bucharest and CCEA, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Bucharest, with the kind support of KPMG Romania.
The event is part of the project Virtue ethics and moral responsibility in organizations: an Aristotelian account by Mihaela Constantinescu, fellow of the ICUB Humanities, University of Bucharest.

Muel Kaptein is a professor of business ethics and integrity management at the Department of Business-Society Management, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). He teaches courses in CSR, leadership, and business ethics. His research interests lie in the area of ethics management, compliance programs and soft-controls. He wrote six books and has published 50 peer-reviewed articles in journals like Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Organization Studies, Journal of Management, and Academy of Management Review. He is section-editor of the Journal of Business Ethics.
Muel Kaptein is also partner at KPMG where he helps organizations in developing and auditing their integrity.
